Tips when renting with us…
Most of our items are priced as a flat rate per event, so please use the items however you see fit during your rental period. Items in high demand and/or very limited quantities may be quoted as a daily, weekly or an extended rental period, depending on your event. It is helpful to understand your venue and vendor polices to make sure that they align with our rental guidelines. Delivery locations, clean up, candle use, and water supply are often areas that can be overlooked. Avoid surcharges that can also delay the events of others by familiarizing yourself with terms and conditions. We are happy to answer any questions about these policies and how they relate to the venues.
We rent our glassware by the rack, depending on the style of glass. Look for the rack quantity in the description of each glass when making your wish list. We will adjust those quantities based on your initial requested numbers when we reply with your quote/proposal.

How early should I make an order for rental items?
We’ve learned that it is never too early to get a rental order started, especially on San Juan Island. We understand that you may not be working with your planner or coordinator until much closer to your event date. It is never too early to reach out, especially about items you are certain about . Avoid possible disappointment and the cost of having to bring in rentals from off-island by getting started today!
What kind of deposit do I need to put down in order to reserve rental items?
In order to secure your rental items for dates requested, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required along with a signed rental agreement. Tents work in the same manner and confirmation policies vary slightly by venue and weather conditions.
Does Shindigs set tables, decorate the venue or provide setup services?
Yes! We can help alleviate stress from your family, friends or wedding planner by providing setup services for your event. Services are available a-la-carte or as part of our White Glove package. We typically do not work your event, but are happy to offer services before and after. Services that we do not provide: catering (or food related services), restroom rentals, waste management/cleanup or entertainment. We’d be happy to refer you to someone within our wonderful network of vendors or entertainment professionals for any of the service types.
Is there a Show Room where I can come and view your rental offerings?
Yes! We have a small show room at our Friday Harbor office just minutes from the Ferry Terminal or Airport. Unfortunately, not all items are stored at our main shop at all times, so if there’s something specific you’d like to see during our meeting, please ask at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Otherwise, be our guest and play with tableware combinations, create a tablescape with linen samples and candle holders or have a seat in some of our lounge furniture.
Are table linens a part of your rental inventory?
Yes, we are proud to partner with BBJ La Tavola Fine Linens of Tukwila, WA. We also retain a very small inventory of table cloths for food and beverage tables. We are happy to offer the comprehensive services of BBJ La Tavola at the same pricing found on their website with the added convenience of streamlining your linens directly to our shop here on island. Your linens arrive to our facility a few days before your event and depart the next business day. Do I need to hire a wedding planner? Does Shindigs plan events?
Although we enjoy throwing parties, Shindigs does not provide full planning for your event. We certainly recommend working with a planner, as major elements of your event are often overlooked, especially when planning on an island. We find that the knowledge and experience planners provide to organize the process of your event, creates a much more enjoyable experience for clients, guests and vendors.
